Individual Mental Health Therapy for Adults

I see individual adult clients for a variety of issues. Some of my specialty treatment focuses are anxiety, depression, grief, LGBTQIA+ issues, trauma, stress management, self-esteem, and adoption concerns. I see clients of all genders, religions, cultures, and backgrounds.

I view therapy as a collaborative process, meaning that we will work together as a team and I will empower you to use your own voice as a tool in the counseling process as well in your own day-to-day life. My approach to counseling is integrative, so we will take your entire self into consideration, including cognitive, physical, spiritual, emotional, and relational aspects. I will guide you as you explore negative thoughts, beliefs, and emotions, and we will identify your inner strength so that you can feel more grounded and rooted in the person you want to become.

Clients have said that they find me calming, easy to talk to, and authentic. I am a culturally sensitive and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, and my therapy style is influenced by cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), person-centered therapy, positive psychology, strength-based therapy, solution-focused therapy, and the feminist and existential theories. Also, when relevant, I enjoy using pop culture and “geek culture” as counseling tools.

Issues that I do not treat: Substance abuse, concerns with addictive behaviors, sexual dysfunction, eating disorders, and bipolar disorders. I also do not offer therapy for adolescents, children, or couples, and I don’t complete disability paperwork or ESA letters. Referrals can be given for providers who specialize in these concerns.

My practice is fully virtual so all sessions are conducted online via a HIPAA-compliant video platform.
