Telehealth Counseling

My practice is fully online, so all of my sessions are Telehealth video sessions.

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth Counseling, also known as online therapy, telemental health counseling, virtual therapy, or distance therapy, is counseling that is provided via the phone or internet. This allows for convenience, flexibility, and accessibility. If you schedule a Telehealth appointment with me, your services will be provided through a HIPAA-compliant platform called Simple Practice that will allow us to connect via both video and audio for our online sessions. No special software is necessary.

Your insurance may not cover Telehealth, so if you are interested, be sure to contact your insurance company to see if they will cover Telehealth sessions/virtual visits for behavioral health/mental health with me as your provider.

What do you need?

To participate in Telehealth Counseling, or online counseling, you will need:

  • A computer, tablet, or phone with a working camera and microphone

  • Reliable internet

  • A quiet and completely private space removed from family, friends, kids, and coworkers

  • MUST be in the state of Georgia during ALL sessions, due to license laws

  • Headphones are strongly recommended for privacy and to decrease sound interference

Telehealth may not be a good fit for every client.

*Some plans only cover Telehealth with a third party platform, such as Teladoc, Live Health Online, or MDLive, which does not include my services.

FAQs about Telehealth

While you have to be in Georgia for all sessions due to license laws, I have more flexibility. Occasionally, I may do sessions from other locations, while always respecting your privacy.
